College in Tanzania - Gibbons Mwaikambo VTC

04/03/2014

Gibbons Mwaikambo Vocational Training College (VTC) was formed in 2003 by the Community of Parents with the aim of providing affordable training in practical skills. Aseri Katanga from Computers 4 Africa visited in 2007. After this visit  10 computers were donated to the college & a member of staff was sponsored to go to Dar es Salaam to  study for a Diploma in ICT.

“My name is Frank Zenobi Choka. I am a teacher of computers at this College.  When I started the job I was a carpentry teacher. After a while the college got sponsorship from Computers 4 Africa through Mr Aseri Katanga. He promised to help with computers & one person to be trained for computer repair & maintenance. I was given that chance after the college was satisfied with my work performance.

I managed to achieve ICT Diploma & brought me to a new world of technology. My life has changed in terms of  performance & income. I have high confidence in teaching others in the community.

Many Tanzanians need to be educated on computer technology. In order to achieve this, we need enough computers.”
