Eurotunnel’s corporate social responsibility policies, targeting energy reduction and waste management received recognition when the company were awarded the IFW (International Freight Weekly) Environmental Award for Leadership in Sustainable Development during 2011.

Eurotunnel has continued to reinforce these policies and to further demonstrate their commitment to the environment and the right for every child to receive a good education. The computers donated to us will go on to impact 4152 Africa students as they have the chance to use PC’s for the first time.

Digital Pipeline’s decommissioning service guarantees complete data destruction; the data wiping software used is CESG InfoSec 5 compliant. All equipment is PAT tested and refurbished prior to being shipped to schools, colleges and various non-government    organisations across the developing world.  Equipping young people with IT skills can improve future career prospects and help lift entire families and communities out of poverty.

“My complete experience of the hardware transfer from the initial feasibility study to planning and onto the collection process has been extremely positive. I am very pleased that our redundant IT equipment has found the opportunity of a reinvigorated life. Computers 4 Africa provided support and partnership to make it all possible with the minimum amount of fuss.”  Geoff Bishop, MIS UK Manager from Eurotunnel
