How One Hospital School Can Help Many

08/11/2013

For the past two years Computers 4 Africa has been working with The Children’s Hospital School at Great Ormond Street who have been kind enough to donate generously to the charity. In return we have provided them with a free IT disposal service that is green, safe and totally secure.  In total their donations will impact more than 600 children in Africa helping to bring them into the technological age.

The Children’s Hospital School provides education to inpatients of school age, ensuring that they do not miss out on vital learning.  Computers 4 Africa endeavour to supply developing schools in Africa with modern technology in order to help improve education standards on the continent.  It is wonderful to see that one unique school through their donation will be incredibly beneficial to many schools across Africa.

We sent our registered vehicles to make two collections at no cost to the donor, which we brought back to our secure warehouse.  The IT equipment then went through the process of Microsoft Registered Refurbishment, including cleaning, data wiping up to Department of Defence standards and installing standardised operating systems along with carefully selected programmes.

“We would like to thank Great Ormond Street for their kind donation.  The computers, laptops and other items have been through our secure warehouse and fully refurbished - all ready to be reused benefiting communities and schools in Africa,” Sharon Roberts, Head of Marketing.
